hello. No it's certainly not the money... £800 for a month's work won't make me rich. What inspires me is a few things... first I've wanted to do an instrumental project about the sea for a while so this is a chance to try out those ideas. Second, there's a lot of nice underwater footage where they ...

Bit of a "Somewhere in Time" vibe, then?
precisely so Stefan, precisely so.

Problem is... recording vocals was due to start today then I got a call from a German film maker wanting music for a documentary about Sperm Whales. So now I'm doing that instead of the Magic Theatre...

The Magic Theatre Thread

hello... thought I'd start a thread relating to the Magic Theatre project (me and Sophie's new album). We're now at the point of having 12 tracks chosen with the running order, but so far they have no lyrics, only a story for each song worked out, and there's only bits of music recorded here and the...

Hello! Well, it's out today, hope you like. Should I have put it out as an album? Hard to say really... there was a mishap in production which meant that every copy's audio was blank and I had to get them all redone. My fault, didn't check the master copy... It's such a small run that I'll end up lo...

I did this

Growing Old When you see me in a Volvo, hit me When you see me in my dressing gown, Smoking pipes and sitting down, just hit me I know I’ll be growing old But leave out the bungalow And waist high chinos When you see me in a flat cap, hit me When you see me on the little seat Despising all the kids ...

i think we've had japanese versions of every album, albeit on a miniature scale. we're small in japan, and non-existent everywhere else. apart from the uk, where we're also small. in the usa we're tiny. in our epic history we've also had nanoscale locally promoted releases in Taiwan (sold 300 and lo...

Thanks chantal, I've used them and written the rest up and emailed em off... your very minor errors will now be immortalised on the Japanese version :-) i think it all adds to the intrigue of rareness and obscurity, is it not so?

Lost Tapes Lyrics Please -for the Japanese Version

The Japanese version of the Lost Tapes is going to have lyrics sheets in... So - if any of you folks get a chance, could you please listen and post up lyrics for the Lost Tapes tracks here in this thread? Then we'll pass them on to Mr. Kurimoto, our oriental counterpart. Problem is... we don't have ...

Thanks to our no-profile marketing campaign this time around, although there'll be only 1,000 copies made they shouldn't sell out any time soon.

I have some finished copies here. They look v nice :-)

OOBERSPAM COMPETITION

OOBERSPAM COMPETITION In August we'd like to tell the world about the new Lost Tapes album. And so we'd like to create a big e-mailing list of people worth telling: mainly news desks and specific contacts at music magazines and websites. So, the 3 people who send us the best list (longest and most u...

Hi Ash, I did listen to your version of Loveshit Ricochet but I'd already remastered it and as far as I can tell you patched it up in a similar way to me. If I'm wrong I apologise forever :-) Who did Sugar Bum? Well I send a pencil sketch to the company who did the early Manic Street Preachers stuff...

Who does all the design for us?

Well, I did everything from Shorley Wall EP onwards until the start of this year whereupon a Mr Dave Coffey, the Coffmeister, master pagan magician, John Lennon-lookalike (he says) and graphic designer did Symphonika, Ooberon and this one.

Heavy Duty is the wav version I found in my 'old tracks' folder on my hard drive. Did we do more than one version? I remember Andy mentioning that once, hmm. Really, I have no idea. Drum Song *was* from the Radio Oob CD, but very much fixed up to sound a lot better. Turns out the original recording ...
